About this opportunity
The Beth Cheshire Moran Award was established in 2002 by Theodore J. Moran to honor the memory of his wife, Beth Cheshire Moran, BS '86. This scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students majoring in computer science or computer engineering who are in good academic standing at the University at Buffalo.
The award gives preference to students of strong personal character who are currently facing some adversity in life or have overcome hardships in the past. This scholarship recognizes both academic achievement and personal resilience, supporting students who demonstrate strength in the face of life's challenges.
Recipients can receive up to $1,500 and are asked to submit a personal statement describing their eligibility for the award, including any challenges they have overcome in their life or as a student at UB. The scholarship is administered through the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
