About This Opportunity

The Beth Spence Memorial Scholarship supports postgraduate research within the School of Nursing at the University of Sydney. This scholarship provides financial assistance to a PhD student undertaking research in nursing at the Sydney Nursing School, Faculty of Medicine and Health. The scholarship is funded by The Seashells Foundation and provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Successful newly commencing international recipients may be eligible to be nominated for the University of Sydney International Tuition Fee Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, area of study and research proposal, and previous research experience. Candidates are assessed and ranked against paid work experience (20%), publications (60%, with the most points going to first authored Q1 journal publications), and other research outputs (20%), with the student assessment accounting for 60% of the final score and the supervisor's professionalism and collegiality rating accounting for 40%.
