Betsy Y. Justus NC TECH Founders Scholarship

The Betsy Y. Justus NC TECH Founders Scholarship was established in memory of NC TECH's founding CEO to support young women in North Carolina pursuing academic and career paths in Technology or Engineering. Each year, two students are selected to receive a scholarship of $1,000 per year plus a Lenovo laptop. The total award is $4,000 for students attending four-year institutions or $2,000 for students attending two-year associate's degree programs within the NC Community College System. The scholarship honors Betsy Y. Justus, NC TECH's founding CEO who passed in 2011, continuing her legacy of supporting women in technology and engineering fields. Recipients must be rising female first-year college students enrolling at accredited institutions in North Carolina with a minimum 3.0 GPA and an intended major in technology or engineering. NC TECH opens applications in January and accepts submissions through April 15, with award notifications sent by May 1. The scholarship includes annual enrollment verification prior to payment being made to the institution. In addition to the monetary award, students receive a Lenovo laptop to support their educational pursuits.
