Bette L. Johnson Scholarship

The Bette L. Johnson Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen from Charleston High School who are majoring in the humanities at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship requires recipients to have earned at least a 3.0 GPA (B average) during high school and to have been accepted to EIU. Preference is given to students majoring in English or Social Studies. Recipients must be graduating seniors from Charleston High School who are enrolling in any of the Humanities disciplines. This award is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the Fall semester. Students are automatically considered for this scholarship based on their completed General Application through the EIU scholarship portal.
