About this opportunity
The Better World Scholarship Fund encourages women to acquire a degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) field. The scholarship was established by a donor whose career path exemplifies the diverse opportunities available in STEM fields, including software development, medical research, technical documentation, organizational education and training, scientific research, and business. The donor's experience demonstrates that STEM careers can be challenging, dynamic, creative, flexible for parenting, and financially rewarding. This scholarship specifically supports female high school graduates from central Ohio counties who are pursuing four-year degrees in STEM fields at U.S. institutions. The program aims to promote gender diversity in STEM education and careers, with a particular emphasis on encouraging young women to pursue these fields. Preference may be given to students attending Gettysburg College or focusing on technology, engineering, and math disciplines, as well as to past recipients seeking renewal.
