Betty J. Hawkins English Scholarship

The Betty J. Hawkins English Scholarship is awarded to full-time sophomore or junior English majors at Eastern Illinois University who demonstrate exceptional writing skills and leadership potential. Recipients must have completed between 35-80 credit hours of EIU coursework by the end of the semester in which the award is made, maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.2, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship recognizes students who exhibit strong character and potential for leadership in the field of English studies. This award is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the Fall semester.
