Betty Luka Memorial Award

The Betty Luka Memorial Award is an annual award available to students entering the fourth year of the BSc. in Human Ecology or the BSc. in Nutrition and Food Science (Dietetics Specialization or Honors Nutrition) program in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta. Recipients must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The award selection is based primarily on academic standing, with preference given to students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship honors the memory of Betty Luka and is funded through an endowment established by her family, friends, colleagues, and a bequest from her estate. Students are automatically considered for this award upon completion of the General Application through the University of Alberta scholarship portal.
