About this opportunity
The Betty Spalton Trust Fund was established in 1999 to provide financial support to individuals obtaining an education in fields associated with the road building and heavy construction industry. The scholarship is merit-based and awards successful candidates $2,500 to be used for study and living expenses. The fund honours Betty Spalton, an industry and Association leader who made important contributions to the sector as a respected leader in highway maintenance in BC. She served as District Highways Manager in McBride and became president of the Okanagan South Division of Argo Road Maintenance, as well as serving on the BC Road Builders' Board of Directors. Promoting diversity within the industries is a goal of the scholarship, and applicants of all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference is given to underrepresented groups in the industry.
