About this opportunity
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) offers interdisciplinary PhD studentships to enable non-clinical researchers to undertake research in cardiovascular sciences. Students may be based in any department of the University of Cambridge and will be part of the world-leading Interdisciplinary Research Centre. The studentship provides full funding for three years, including home fees, maintenance stipend, and additional costs for consumables, training, and travel. Projects must relate to one or more of the BHF CRE themes and should cross traditional research disciplines and/or involve two or more of the CRE themes. Approximately three awards are available for the 2026/27 academic year. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview in December 2025. International students are welcome to apply but must secure additional funding to cover the difference between home and overseas fees. Successful candidates must meet university requirements and be accepted onto a course by their supervisor's department.
