About this opportunity
This funding opportunity supports investments in broadband infrastructure development in Middle Norrland (Jämtland-Härjedalen and Västernorrland regions). The program provides EU financing for initiatives that contribute to building out the broadband infrastructure network, specifically for inter-community connecting networks (backhaul networks). The funding aims to help meet the national broadband goal of 2025 by enabling more households and businesses to access high-capacity broadband. Projects must align with regional broadband strategies and the regulations from the Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) for broadband investment support. The initiative addresses the low broadband coverage in the region where only 73.7% of households in Västernorrland and 72.6% in Jämtland Härjedalen have access to fast broadband. The program supports sustainable transformation and development by improving digital infrastructure accessibility throughout the program geography.
