Bidrag till forskningsinfrastruktur av nationellt intresse

This funding opportunity from the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) supports research infrastructure of national interest in Sweden. The grant can be applied for national infrastructure or Swedish participation in international infrastructure. The call is open only for specific research infrastructures/areas listed in the call text. The purpose is to support infrastructure that enables research for multiple research groups and projects across one or more research areas. Infrastructures must be openly accessible primarily to researchers but also to industry, public sector, and other relevant actors. Priority should be based primarily on scientific excellence when access is limited. The infrastructure must create clear national added value and have long-term planning for scientific activities and their development. Three sub-categories are included: National infrastructure (requiring co-financing at minimum the same level as requested from VR), New membership in international infrastructure (no co-financing required for membership fee), and Infrastructure projects (no co-financing required but significant commitments expected). The funding covers investment and operation of research infrastructure including coordination, development, construction or upgrading costs.
