About this opportunity
The Binar Biddi PhD Scholarship supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in pursuing doctoral research in veterinary science at Murdoch University. The scholarship recognizes the strong connection between animals, people and Country that Indigenous peoples maintain, and supports research focused on improving animal health and welfare, their interactions with people and Country, and the conservation of Australian wildlife and ecosystems. Binar means shooting star and biddi means path, together representing 'path of the shooting star'. This scholarship provides an annual stipend of $37,000 per year for 3.5 years totaling $129,500, plus maintenance funds of $5,000 per year for 3 years totaling $15,000, for a total award of $144,500. Murdoch University's veterinary science research crafts solutions to improve animal welfare and productivity, and supports the conservation of iconic Australian wildlife and ecosystems. The scholarship requires full-time enrollment (though part-time will be considered) with a principal supervisor within Murdoch University School of Veterinary Medicine.
