Biocodex Microbiota Foundation National Research Grant - Portugal 2026

The Biocodex Microbiota Foundation Portugal National Research Grant supports research focused on 'Microbiota in Neurogastroenterology: Disorders of the gut-brain axis interaction.' This grant is designed for clinicians and researchers working at Portuguese scientific and technological institutions. The award provides €25,000 to support innovative research projects exploring the relationship between the gut microbiota and neurogastroenterological disorders, particularly those involving gut-brain axis interactions. The grant will be awarded to a research organization, team, or institution (academic institution, research center, hospital, health unit, etc.) rather than to individual private citizens. Projects must be completed within 18 months, and recipients are expected to produce scientific publications acknowledging the Foundation's support. An independent jury composed of four members of the Biocodex Microbiota Foundation's Scientific Committee in Portugal will evaluate all applications based on scientific merit, methodological adequacy, expected impact, feasibility, and budget appropriateness.
