About this opportunity

This call is aimed at promoting innovative research that can be integrated into nature restoration practices for connected and well-functioning ecosystems and habitats, with particular emphasis on long-term sustainability and future-proofing of restoration measures, at scales from local to regional, across national borders and to global level, including evaluation of these. The call supports knowledge sharing and capacity building across disciplines and societal sectors, as well as recognizing, valuing and integrating different forms of knowledge. The call is divided into three main themes that partially overlap: Topic 1: Setting restoration goals and measuring success; Topic 2: Transferability and scaling of nature restoration measures; Topic 3: Resilience and sustainability in restoration measures. Project proposals should demonstrate significant cross-country added value and are expected to be interdisciplinary, involving multiple academic disciplines. Proposals are also strongly encouraged to be transdisciplinary, by including non-academic actors who collaborate with researchers to co-create new knowledge relevant to society.
