Black Futures Scholarship

The Black Futures Scholarship provides £20,780 annually plus full UK tuition fees for talented Black and Mixed-Black heritage UK-domiciled students pursuing a PhD at the University of Southampton. The scholarship aims to support underrepresented students in doctoral research across all faculties of the university. Recipients also receive a £1,200 training and support grant each year to assist with their professional development and research activities. This competitive scholarship recognizes academic excellence while addressing the challenges faced by Black students in higher education, with applications reviewed by a diverse selection panel who understand these specific challenges.
