Blackstone Edge Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund

Nadara has established the Blackstone Edge Windfarm Community Benefits Fund to support local community organisations, benefiting people living close to the Blackstone Edge windfarm in North West Barnsley. The fund prioritizes projects that advance education, culture or science; encourage public participation in sport involving physical skill and exertion; promote civic responsibility, volunteering, citizenship or community development; support environmental protection or improvement, bio-diversity and habitat conservation; encourage energy conservation and sustainable transport options; provide capital items with tangible and lasting benefits, including improvements to community buildings; and other community-based or community-led projects that meet identified local needs and issues. The wind farm is situated in West Barnsley, and the area of benefit is a 5km boundary of the wind farm site, including Dunford, Gunthwaite & Ingbirchworth, Thurlstone, Penistone, Upper Denby and parts of Holmfirth. Projects outside the 5km boundary may also apply if the majority of beneficiaries reside within the 5km area.
