About this opportunity
The Blair and Beth Wilson Residential Scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme at the University of Queensland. This scholarship provides financial support for domestic undergraduate students who are experiencing financial hardship and are residing at an approved accommodation provider. The scholarship has a particular focus on supporting students from rural or remote areas.
Established in 2025 through a gift from Alumni Friends, this scholarship honors the late Blair Wilson (Bachelor of Architecture, 1955), Past President of the Alumni Friends (1979-1987) and one of Brisbane's most impactful architects, and the late Beth Wilson (nee Moxon) (Bachelor of Science, 1955), a landscape architect whose work alongside Blair, and in recording Brisbane's unique gardens, helped define and shape the city's evolving identity. She also left an indelible mark on the physical spaces across Brisbane, contributing to projects including UQ's Lakeside, Suncorp Stadium, the Princess Alexandra Hospital and beyond.
The scholarship provides $4,500 per annum (subject to the annual distribution from the relevant fund and may be more or less in some years) for the minimum completion time of the undergraduate degree. It is available to commencing students enrolled full-time in an approved program who can demonstrate financial hardship by providing documentary evidence.
