Bob and Doug Matheson Award in Law

The Bob and Doug Matheson Award in Law is awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering any year in the JD degree program in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. The selection is based on demonstrated leadership through involvement in student life and on having overcome hardship, including financial adversity. This endowed award was established by Robert Stuart Matheson, OC, QC and The Hon Douglas Randolph Matheson, QC to support law students who have shown resilience and leadership despite facing challenges.
