About this opportunity
The Bob and Valerie Valaas Health Sciences Scholarship was established in 2007 to benefit students entering the Allied Health program at Wenatchee Valley College. Bob and Valerie Valaas recognized the need for well-trained medical personnel in the Wenatchee Valley, with Bob serving on the Central Washington Hospital board of directors for many years. The scholarship honors their family's commitment to healthcare, as several of their children and grandchildren served the medical community as physicians, nurses, and radiology technicians. This scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating seniors or previous graduates from Wenatchee or Westside High School who plan to pursue Allied Health education at Wenatchee Valley College. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and show interest and potential aptitude in the health field along with concern for others.
