About this opportunity
This scholarship was established by the friends and family of the late Bob Graham, an Associate Professor in Recreation and Leisure Studies, and a doctoral student in the School of Planning. The scholarship supports graduate students in their second year in the Faculty of Health or the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo who are conducting research in areas related to terrestrial and marine parks and conservation, especially the integration of social science and natural science information, cooperative management, interpretation/environmental education or customary and traditional ecological knowledge. Applicants must have an overall average of B+ and demonstrate financial need. It is desirable that students have evidence of volunteer commitment or employment with parks and conservation organizations such as Parks Canada, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Natural Wildlife Areas, conservation authorities, Canada Parks and Wilderness Society, Federation of Ontario Naturalists, World Wildlife Fund Canada, cooperating associations, or similar organizations. The award is available to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who are Ontario residents.
