About this opportunity
The Bobbie King Memorial Scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students at Eastern Illinois University majoring in World Languages and Cultures, specifically French, German, or Spanish. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence and leadership in promoting the study of world languages and cultures. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and a major GPA of at least 3.7, and must have completed at least two upper-division courses after the close of the term in which the scholarship is awarded. The recipient must also demonstrate leadership in promoting the study of World Languages and Cultures through activities such as language clubs, volunteer tutoring, cultural events, language honor societies, or similar organizations. The award is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the Fall semester. Applicants must have at least one semester of study remaining after the award is made.
