About this opportunity

The Bonneville Scholarship is a premier merit scholarship for first-year, first-time students who are residents of Utah or non-residents from states other than those eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Tuition Rate. This scholarship provides $6,000 per academic year to help cover tuition and mandatory fees for students enrolled full-time at the University of Utah. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters (fall and spring), or until the student receives a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first, as long as the student continues to meet scholarship renewal requirements and remains in good standing. To be eligible, students must be first-year, first-time students with an unweighted, cumulative high school grade point average of 3.80-3.89 on a 4-point scale at the time of application, and must complete their admissions application by December 1, 2025. The scholarship requires students to maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours) each semester and complete at least 24 credit hours during the two semesters of the academic year. To maintain the scholarship, students must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and complete at least 24 credit hours during fall and spring semesters. Once the scholarship is lost due to failure to meet renewal or good standing requirements, it cannot be regained. The scholarship is administered by the University Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid (UOSFA) and beginning Fall 2026, determinations are made by the Office of Admissions.
