About this opportunity
The Brian Harris Scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction of £10,000 for UK students applying for Humanities or Business and Management postgraduate degrees at Royal Holloway, University of London. Two scholarships are available to new full or part-time postgraduate students who have studied a Humanities degree at undergraduate level. The scholarship was established by entrepreneur Brian Harris to provide an opportunity for students from low-income backgrounds to study a Masters degree. Brian was the first in his family to go to university and was inspired to study history at Royal Holloway. After his undergraduate studies, he decided to pursue a Masters to boost his CV and help him stand out in the employment market. His subsequent business successes gave him the means to help other disadvantaged students, particularly given his awareness that he studied in an era of free higher education. The scholarship aims to level the playing field for more disadvantaged students by supporting those with financial need who have achieved or are expected to achieve at least a 2:1 degree, with preference given to those with First Class Honours.
