British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM 2026

British Council and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine Original Source

About This Opportunity

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), in partnership with the British Council, is offering five scholarships as part of the Women in STEM scholarship programme. These scholarships provide funding for women from eligible Southeast Asian countries to complete a one-year, full-time master's degree in the UK. LSTM is committed to closing the gender pay gap and increasing opportunities for women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and medicine (STEM). These scholarships address financial barriers for women, encouraging leadership opportunities and a more diverse and gender-representative sector. The programme covers full tuition fees, monthly maintenance awards, return economy class travel, visa, insurance/NHS surcharge and other related costs. Recipients are expected to return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after the award ends and act as ambassadors for the UK, engaging with British Council activities.
