Broward Futures Scholarship

The Broward Futures Scholarship is a need-based scholarship program designed to support at-risk students pursuing higher education at Broward College. The scholarship is specifically aimed at students who have participated in youth mentoring programs or meet specific at-risk criteria, such as living with foster parents, having involvement with the criminal justice system, being homeless, or being first-generation college students. The program aims to provide financial assistance to help eligible students overcome barriers to higher education. To qualify, students must demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA, have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent with at least a 2.0 GPA, and be seeking a degree or certificate at Broward College. Applicants must begin their studies on or before their 22nd birthday and must provide a certificate of completion from an eligible youth mentoring or prevention program operated by one of the designated partner organizations. The scholarship is awarded based on verifiable financial need and requires applicants to be admitted to a Broward College degree program that is eligible for financial aid. The program emphasizes supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have demonstrated commitment to personal growth through participation in mentoring or intervention programs.
