About this opportunity
The Bruce Leitl Composition Award is a scholarship endowed by Catherine Monks and Rick Thomas to support graduating high school students pursuing post-secondary studies in music composition. The award is specifically designed for students passionate about composing music for film, television, gaming, and commercials. Applicants must demonstrate that they understand music composition requires serious study and commitment beyond basic digital music production. The award is available to grade 12 students from Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Catholic School Board schools who have maintained at least a 70% average and demonstrated academic progress. Recipients must be registered in an eligible program with at least one to two years of study at a Canadian post-secondary institution. To claim the award, students must be registered within twelve months of notification in a program of at least two years duration at a post-secondary institution in Canada.
