About this opportunity
The Bruce Veness Chandler Supplementary Scholarship in Food Chemistry supports outstanding postgraduate students conducting research in the field of food chemistry within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences. Established in 2004 by a bequest of $400,000 from the residual estate of Bruce Veness Chandler, this supplementary scholarship assists Masters by Research or PhD scholars with their living costs while completing their studies. The scholarship provides an annual stipend allowance of $10,000 for up to one year, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Applicants must already hold a primary scholarship that provides a stipend allowance and must be enrolled full-time at the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. The successful applicant will be selected based on academic merit, curriculum vitae, area of study and research proposal, and the importance of the research support sought. The research subject and approach should be such that it could potentially lead to publication of scientific papers in both fundamental research journals as well as food, agriculture and nutrition journals.
