BSD Career Advancement for Postdocs (CAP) Travel Award

The UChicago BSD Career Advancement for Postdocs (CAP) Award is a travel award program specifically designed for BSD postdocs at the University of Chicago. The program provides financial support for postdoctoral scholars and fellows to attend scientific meetings and professional development conferences. Travel awards of up to $500 are available for attendance at scientific meetings and up to $1,000 for professional development meetings. These awards serve as supplements to costs related to attending meetings, including registration fees, travel costs, and accommodation expenses. The program operates on a rolling basis with three award cycles annually, featuring deadlines on January 1st, May 1st, and September 1st. Scientific meeting awards are distributed through a lottery system among eligible applicants, while professional development awards are merit-based and evaluated by the Postdoc Office and Postdoc Association Steering Committee. Postdocs are eligible to receive one scientific meeting travel award and one professional development meeting travel award every two years during their appointment at UChicago.
