BSPP Event Organisation Fund

The British Society for Plant Pathology (BSPP) offers funding to support the organisation of plant pathology related conferences, meetings and workshops. BSPP members can apply for limited funds to support various aspects of event organisation, such as reducing conference fees for students, financing visiting speakers, preparing documentation, or subsidising excursions. The amount awarded is at the discretion of the Board and depends on the benefit to plant pathology, with a maximum award of £4000. There are two deadlines each year for submission of applications: April 30th and October 31st. Decisions are communicated within 6 weeks of the deadlines, and funding must be used within 12 months of the award. Conference awards are only made for events that have an open registration process and are accessible to BSPP members, rather than for events limited to members of a specific institution or organisation. Successful applicants are required to acknowledge the funding at the conference, promote BSPP and plant pathology where possible, and submit a report after the conference. Applications should be made to the BSPP President Elect at least 4 months ahead of the intended date of the conference.
