Budz-Guenter Memorial Scholarship

The Budz-Guenter Memorial Scholarship is an entrance award established to honor the memory of Victor Budz and Dennis Guenter, two firefighters who lost their lives fighting a fire on May 31, 1980. The scholarship provides tuition support to eligible students entering SIAST (Kelsey Campus) or the University of Saskatchewan. This memorial award specifically supports the children of Saskatoon Fire Department employees, recognizing the sacrifice and service of firefighters and their families. The scholarship is offered by Local #80 IAFF, The Saskatoon Professional Firefighters Union, and The City of Saskatoon.
