About This Opportunity

The Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ) Scholarship supports master's students who are undertaking research which contributes to building capability assisting the construction industry to transition to zero carbon. These scholarships are funded by the building Research Levy through BRANZ, an independent research organisation that uses an impartial evidence-based approach to improving the performance of the New Zealand building system. Since 1970, BRANZ has been transforming insightful research into trusted, accessible, and actionable knowledge. The scholarship is designed for postgraduate students pursuing master's degrees at Massey University who are conducting research at the master's level that contributes to the construction industry's goal to transition to zero carbon. The master's project must be 45 credits or more. Priority is given to students already working in zero carbon building design or construction or who intend to work in the future industry. Recipients are selected based on their CV and either their relevant industry experience or their statement regarding future intentions related to zero carbon construction. The scholarship provides financial support for one year to help students advance research that will have practical applications in the construction industry's transition to sustainable, zero-carbon practices.
