Buitrago Opportunity Graduate Scholarship in Engineering

One scholarship, valued at up to $50,000, will be provided to graduate students who will be registered full time in a course-based or research-based master's program in the Faculty of Engineering. The award will be paid in equal installments over the standard program length for their respective master's degree as long as they remain registered full-time. Selection will be based on academic excellence (minimum cumulative average of 75% or equivalent in their current or most recently completed program). Preference will be given to a student who received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia then to a student who received any degree in Engineering from the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia, then to a student who received any degree in Engineering from any university in Colombia. This fund is made possible by a donation from Jorge Buitrago, a proud alum, (MASc'82 Mechanical Engineering) who wants fellow students to experience graduate studies in Waterloo.
