Business Grants

The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity provides individual business grants of up to £5,000 to help businesses grow and thrive in Leicestershire and Rutland. The grants are designed to support small businesses that have been operating for at least one year but no more than five years, with annual turnover between £8,000 and £150,000. Applicants must demonstrate a real need for the grant and the positive impact it will have on their business. The program welcomes applications from sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Recipients have used grants to purchase equipment, expand wholesale routes, and grow their operations. The charity has previously awarded over £100,000 in business grants to support local businesses. The grant scheme operates in windows, with the 2025 window now closed. The scheme will be reviewed in 2026 and a further grants scheme may be launched. Applicants must be aged 18-45, currently resident in Leicestershire or Rutland, and operating their business from within this area. Previous grant recipients are not eligible to apply again.
