Byggnads kulturstipendium

Since 1966, Byggnads has awarded cultural scholarships annually. The scholarships are given for valuable contributions and to support continued work or further education within culture. The scholarships are awarded to professional cultural workers with some establishment in their field. The scholarship committee considers whether the artistic perspective is to break new ground, whether there is a combination of social engagement and cultural expression, and whether there is a desire to reach a broad audience to spread knowledge on an important issue or subject. The committee also considers whether the cultural worker demonstrates a special talent where they want to support continued development. The scholarship typically cannot be obtained for project support within higher education. The cultural area is divided into these genres: Music, Literature, Journalism, Dance, Film, Visual Arts, Theater, Crafts, Photography, Architecture, and Other performing arts.
