Byggnads kulturstipendium

Since 1966, the Swedish Building Workers' Union (Svenska Byggnadsarbetareförbundet) has annually awarded a number of cultural scholarships. These can be received for completed valuable contributions and for continued work in various cultural areas with the purpose of making it possible to realize an idea or project, as well as for further education. The scholarships are given to professional cultural workers within areas such as literature with a certain establishment within their field. The scholarship committee takes into account whether the artistic perspective is to break new ground, whether there is a combination of social engagement and cultural expression, and whether there is a desire to reach a broad audience to spread knowledge on an important issue or within an important subject. Furthermore, the committee considers whether the cultural worker demonstrates a particular talent where they wish to support continued development. This funding opportunity is administered by Svenska Byggnadsarbetareförbundet and is promoted through the Swedish Writers' Union (Författarförbundet) for established professional cultural workers, particularly those in literature.
