About this opportunity
This scholarship supports students with an unconditional offer into the Juris Doctor (JD) Program within the University of Sydney Law School. The scholarship has been made available by the generosity of two benefactors of the Sydney Law School, combining two separate bequests. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating leadership experience and commitment to providing service to the community. Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment and a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 to continue receiving the scholarship.
The scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum and is tenable for the normal full-time duration of the degree. Payment is made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Students who have already commenced their JD studies or are transferring from other programs are not eligible to apply. Final-semester students who are on track to complete their current degree and meet the JD entry requirements are encouraged to apply.
Applicants who apply for this scholarship will automatically be considered for the Wigram Allen Scholarship for Juris Doctor Award. The scholarship may be terminated if the recipient withdraws from the course, does not maintain satisfactory academic performance, or accepts an alternative scholarship valued at $6,000 or more for the same purpose.
