About this opportunity
The Cakes for College scholarship is funded by the Keep It In the Valley Foundation (KVF), which runs the Apple Blossom Festival's funnel cake stand as a nonprofit with all proceeds supporting scholarships. Founded in 2012 by Ben Paine and his family, inspired by Ben's own Community Foundation scholarship, KVF aims to help the next generation from the Wenatchee Valley pursue college degrees. More than 150 local volunteers annually donate their time and resources to make this scholarship possible.
This scholarship specifically assists high school seniors planning to attend Wenatchee Valley College. Up to 20 scholarships are awarded each year to students graduating from high schools in Wenatchee, Eastmont, or Cashmere. The program seeks engaged individuals with strong communication skills who make a positive local impact through school and community activities.
Recipients must be graduating seniors from Cashmere, Eastmont, River Academy, Wenatchee, or Westside High Schools (or homeschooled students from those districts), attend Wenatchee Valley College as full-time students, and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Renewal is possible for recipients who reapply and compete with new applicants.
