About this opportunity
The Calboonya Legacy Information Technology and Computer Science Scholarship was established in 2019 through a gift from UQ Bachelor of Computer Science (1979) alumni. The scholarship is designed to support students pursuing education in computer science and information technology at the University of Queensland who may not otherwise have the opportunity to study in these areas. The scholarship provides financial assistance of at least $4,500 for one year to students demonstrating both financial need and academic ability. It is available to commencing students or prior recipients enrolled full-time in computer science or information technology programs at UQ. The scholarship recognizes the importance of providing educational opportunities to students facing financial hardship, continuing the donors' legacy of encouraging students to pursue their education in technology fields. Selection is based on evidence of financial hardship, demonstrated academic ability, personal qualities including leadership potential and community service, and other factors relevant to future success.
