About this opportunity
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship program provides financial support to students pursuing Master's or in some cases, doctoral programs in Canada in all disciplines. The program is administered jointly by Canada's three granting agencies: CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC. The selection process is carried out at the institutional level under the guidance of the three agencies. Concordia University of Edmonton is an eligible participating institution.
Students enrolled in this program are eligible to receive $27,000 for 12 months of study. The scholarship is non-renewable and provides support for graduate students who have demonstrated a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and graduate studies.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, enrolled in or applying for full-time admission to an eligible graduate program at the master's or doctoral level at a Canadian institution. They must have completed no more than 12 months of full-time studies in a graduate program and must have achieved a first-class average in each of the last two completed years of study. Applications are submitted online through the Research Portal and include a research proposal, official transcripts, a Canadian Common CV, and two reference assessments.
The adjudication process involves reviewing applications for eligibility and completeness, followed by departmental review and recommendations to the Scholarship and Awards Committee. Official notifications to applicants are available through the Research Portal on April 1st.
