About this opportunity
The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Saskatoon Inc. offers eleven scholarships valued at $2,500 each to female identifying students at the University of Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon club of CFUW was formed in 1918 with a mandate to empower women and girls, particularly through education. These scholarships support students in any field who have maintained an average of 75% or higher and will be full-time students in the upcoming Fall academic year. Preference is given to students working on their first degree.
The program includes seven CFUW Saskatoon Inc. Scholarships (two for students who completed one year and five for those with at least two years completed, with one preferring mature students returning after an interruption). Additional named scholarships include the Marie I. Gillespie Scholarship for mature women with preference to parents, the Carolyn Hartney Scholarship for students with financial need unlikely to receive major awards, the Jacqueline McKenzie Newstead Scholarship for students with three or more years completed who demonstrate financial need (preference to single parents), and the Florence E. Bennee Fine Arts Scholarship open to both male and female students in Drama, Music, or Art & Art History.
Awards are funded through generous individual donations and the annual book sale operated each fall by the organization. Recipients must complete an application through the CFUW Undergraduate Awards Application form and may submit references electronically to the Scholarship Selection Committee Chair.
