About this opportunity
The Canon Honours Scholarship was established by an initial donation in 2002 from Canon Australia, who have a strong commitment to the academic development of Australia's youth. The scholarship is designed to encourage outstanding academic endeavour in marketing and support students commencing an honours program with a specialisation in marketing at the University of Sydney Business School.
Two scholarships are available annually, with amounts offered based on ranking against selection criteria. The first scholarship provides $8,000 payable for one year, while the second provides $4,000 payable for one year. The annual payment is made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
To be eligible, applicants must have completed their undergraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney Business School and have been accepted into an honours program with a marketing specialisation. Applicants must have obtained a minimum distinction average (75 and above) in their undergraduate Marketing major units of study. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, specifically performance in undergraduate Marketing major units of study.
No separate application is required as students are automatically considered when applying for the marketing honours program. Recipients may be invited to promote the program, represent the University at student welcome and marketing events, corporate networking events, and fulfil on-campus functions of a Business School Student Ambassador. The scholarship cannot be deferred without prior permission and is not transferable to another honours program, faculty, or university.
