About This Opportunity

The Carbery Group Scholarship is offered to postgraduate students enrolled in UCC's MSc Sustainable Development, Agri-Food and Co-operatives programme. Carbery Group is an international dairy, flavours and nutritional ingredients company headquartered in Ballineen, Co. Cork, Ireland, owned by four Irish co-operatives. The co-operative ethos is fundamental to Carbery's identity and operations, and the company is pleased to support this scholarship to reflect their commitment to working in partnership with communities and contributing positively to the economy and society. The scholarship provides €10,630 towards programme fees and a €2,500 stipend, and includes a work placement opportunity with Carbery Group. This provides students with practical industry experience in a leading international agri-food company while pursuing their studies in sustainable development and co-operatives. Applicants must submit a short personal statement (maximum 500 words) addressing what would be of greatest interest or benefit to them in terms of working in Carbery. A shortlist of students will be chosen for interviews with the programme co-directors and a Carbery Group representative. The scholarship is designed to support students who are passionate about the co-operative sector and sustainable agri-food development. Recipients are expected to maintain attendance and meet all programme requirements throughout the year. Withdrawal from the programme or failure to meet requirements may result in repayment of scholarship funds to the College.
