About This Opportunity

The Care Leaver and Estranged Student Fund provides financial support to students identified as care leavers or those who have been assessed as estranged students by their funding provider. The fund helps with course and living costs during their studies at the University of Northampton. For students commencing in 2025/26, the fund provides £500 payment into qualifying students' bank accounts to help with course and living costs, plus a further £500 available in early summer to support with accommodation costs or other planned spending and emergencies. Students who commenced their course between 2020/21 to 2024/25 and are continuing in 2025/26 may receive £1,500 paid in three installments across the academic year. To be eligible, students must be under 25 years old on the first day of the first academic year, be a 'Home' student enrolled on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course, and must have been in care for at least thirteen weeks since age 14 or be estranged from their parents. Applicants must not be living with parents or receiving financial support from parents.
