About this opportunity
The Care Leaver and Estranged Student Travel Award provides up to £1,000 per year to help undergraduate students from care backgrounds or estranged from their parents with the costs of travel to campus. The award is specifically designed for students who are living off campus and commuting by car or public transport. Students must have been in care or under a care order for at least thirteen weeks since the age of 14, or be estranged from their parents with no contact or financial support. The award is paid in three instalments per year (September, January, and April) and students must reapply in subsequent years. This funding opportunity is exclusively available to UK 'home' students under the age of 25 enrolled on full-time undergraduate courses at the University of Northampton.
