Care Leaver Bursary

University College London Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Care Leaver Bursary is designed to enable and encourage students who live in or have lived in care to pursue their undergraduate studies at University College London (UCL). The bursary provides £1,000 per year for the duration of the undergraduate program to cover maintenance costs for eligible students. Eligible candidates must be UK-domiciled with Home fee status, aged under 25 on the day their course starts, and must have been in the care of or given accommodation by their local authority for at least 13 weeks. Students entering their first year can request an advance payment of £200 to help with transition costs. The bursary is automatically renewed each year as long as the student remains enrolled at UCL and under the age of 25. No separate application is required—students are automatically assessed once their Care Leaver status is confirmed by their Regional Funding Authority through the standard student finance application process.
