About this opportunity

The Carers Award provides financial support to students at the University of Northampton who are responsible for caring for a relative due to disability, chronic or terminal illness, mental health problems or similar circumstances. This award recognizes the additional challenges faced by student carers who balance their educational pursuits with significant caring responsibilities. The award provides up to £2,000 to help alleviate financial pressures associated with being a student carer. Students must have been in receipt of Carers Allowance prior to enrolling on their course or be able to provide proof that they are a carer. The award is typically paid in two instalments, with 50% paid once the application has been received and assessed, and the remaining 50% paid in mid-February. Students may be eligible to reapply in future academic years, subject to funds being available.
