About This Opportunity

The Cargill Scholarship is offered to 2nd year BSc or 1st year FdSc students studying at Harper Adams University who are interested in pursuing a career in the Pig Industry. The scholarship provides a significant contribution of £4,500 towards education along with employment during the placement year with Cargill, a sponsoring pig industry company. The award is paid in two equal parts: half in February 2026 and the remaining balance in May 2026. A mandatory condition of the scholarship is that the placement year must be spent with the sponsoring organisation. This is a competitive, merit-based award evaluated on the submitted application, academic achievements, and interview performance. The Scholarship Panel's decision is final. Subject to a review at the end of the placement with the sponsoring firm, there may be an opportunity for further funding in the scholar's final academic year. Students can apply for a maximum of 3 placement-based scholarships through the Student Dashboard.
