About This Opportunity

The Carlsberg Foundation is celebrating its 150th anniversary by awarding six-year funding grants for up to four interdisciplinary research centres. The purpose is to foster groundbreaking collaboration across the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, enabling ambitious basic research into complex challenges that benefit from integrated, multidimensional approaches. The centres are designed to generate scientific breakthroughs through the exploration of bold, interdisciplinary questions. Particular emphasis is placed on proposals that mobilise untapped potential in synergistic interdisciplinary research, clearly outline interdependent subprojects and consider the long-term sustainability and legacy of the centre beyond the funding period. Applications are led by teams of two or three Principal Investigators who must establish shared, collaborative leadership structures throughout the grant period.
