The Carol Strip Whitney Scholarship represents a life of passion dedicated to gifted education over 45 years. Dr. Carol Whitney believes in the abilities of gifted children to make this world a better place as future leaders, researchers, and inventors. She operates Gifted Services of Ohio and has authored three books on gifted education, earning her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in curriculum of the gifted adolescent. This scholarship supports graduating high school seniors and recent graduates who have been identified as gifted and intend to be among the leaders of the next generation. The scholarship recognizes that gifted children require special support and understanding to develop to their highest potentials. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, participate in extracurricular activities, and exhibit high moral character in their daily lives.
