Carpenters Local #243 Scholarship

The Carpenters Local #243 Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students at Eastern Illinois University who are children or stepchildren of members in good standing of Carpenter's Local #243 union of east-central Illinois. The scholarship is open to full-time incoming or currently attending freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate students who have been accepted to Eastern Illinois University. Recipients may reapply and receive the award again in subsequent years provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. The scholarship requires submission of a personal statement detailing academic achievements and educational plans, extra-curricular or community activities, plans for financing college costs, and reasons for choosing to attend Eastern Illinois University. Additionally, applicants must provide verification from a business representative or financial secretary of Carpenter's Local #243 confirming their eligibility as a child or stepchild of a member in good standing. This award is announced in the Spring semester and paid in the Fall semester.
